The Art of Racing in the Rain is a 2019 American one-act-drama picture show directed by Simon Curtis and written by Marker Bomback, based on the 2008 novel of the same name past author Garth Stein. The film stars Milo Ventimiglia, Amanda Seyfried and Kevin Costner every bit the voice of Enzo.

A year later, Denny meets a lady named Eve while grocery shopping and the two begin to appointment.
After Denny and Eve marry the following year, Eve'due south female parent, Trish, tries to be supportive, just her father, Maxwell, doesn't fully approve of Denny because of his career as a race commuter. Eve becomes meaning. On Christmas 24-hour interval, Denny receives an invitation to drive in the 24 Hours of Daytona in Feb, which unfortunately takes place close to Eve's due date. A frustrated Denny goes jogging with Enzo. Struggling to proceed step in his one-time age, Enzo attempts to follow Denny beyond a street just is hitting past a car. The site's critical consensus reads: "Its heartstring-tugging overtures may be difficult for dog lovers to resist, but The Art of Racing in the Rain is sentimental and contrived."[16] On Metacritic the film has a weighted average score of 43 out of 100, based on 31 critics, indicating "mixed or boilerplate reviews."[17] Audiences polled by CinemaScore gave the film an boilerplate grade of "A-" on an A+ to F scale, while those at PostTrak gave information technology an average 4.five out of 5 stars and a 72% "definite recommend."[2]
Ed Potton of The Sun Times gave the film a positive review, observing that the premise "really shouldn't work, yet somehow it steers a course betwixt corniness and barminess.
